Nationwide Children's Hospital seeks a clinically-oriented and compassionate general dentist to join our expanding and nationally renowned Division of Dentistry.

This dentist will be responsible for providing direct patient care in multiple clinical settings with an emphasis on treating adolescents and adults with special health care needs in our newly constructed and interprofessional ambulatory care center on the hospital campus. Opportunities for dedicated time for scholarly activities and professional development are available.

Qualified candidates must possess a DDS/DMD degree and advanced education program training that includes experience treating patients with Special Health Care Needs or equivalent experience.  Hospital privileges at Nationwide Children’s Hospital  and a faculty appointment at the Ohio State College of Dentistry are requirements for this position. Dentists will need to obtain a dental license in the State of Ohio and a sedation permit is strongly preferred. The position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality and collaborations among members of the division and the hospital. The candidate must embrace a “One Team” philosophy that includes a genuine willingness to put the safety and needs of the patient first in a culturally diverse, clinical care setting.

The Division of Dentistry at Nationwide Children's Hospital is administratively housed within the Department of Surgery and provides comprehensive oral health care. The division focuses on the care of children and adolescence with medically and dentally complex conditions and needs. In May 2017, Nationwide Children’s opened our new dental clinic at the interprofessional Livingston Ambulatory Center. The new 17,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art-dental clinic provides a significant increase in treatment space that includes 30 dental operatories, telehealth capabilities and new imaging equipment. In addition, the hospital has state of the art operating rooms including operating rooms designed specifically to support Dental Surgery.

The Division of Dentistry at Nationwide Children’s is privileged to benefit from a relationship with the prestigious Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Our flagship Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program is highly respected as being a well-balanced clinical experience in all areas of pediatric dentistry with a rigorous academic focus that capitalizes on the long-term, collaborative partnership of both institutions.

Named to the Top 10 Honor Roll on U.S. News & World Report’s 2020-21 list of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of America’s largest not-for-profit freestanding pediatric health care systems providing wellness, preventive, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative care for infants, children and adolescents, as well as adult patients with congenital disease. Nationwide Children’s has a staff of more than 13,000 providing state-of-the-art pediatric care during more than 1.6 million patient visits annually. As home to the Department of Pediatrics of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Nationwide Children’s physicians train the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric specialists. The Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of the Top 10 National Institutes of Health-funded freestanding pediatric research facilities.
