Oral and Maxillofacial Physician Assistant Opportunity at Progressive Tertiary Care Center in Maine
Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is looking for a physician assistant to join their busy Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice. Under the supervision of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, the physician assistant will be responsible for assisting with clinic-based procedures such as assessment and review of appropriately selected patients and assisting with a limited amount of office based Oral and Maxillofacial procedures. The physician assist will also be required to support in the operating room treating patients with in all Oral and Maxillofacial procedures that are carried out. These procedures range from simple oral surgery (such as dental extractions, third molar removal, oral lesion excision), to more complex treatment procedures such as facial fractures, oro-facial infections, and complex soft tissue facial wounds. The Oral and Maxillofacial trauma component forms the majority of cases.
The ideal candidate will have an interest and understanding of oral surgery or the dental science discipline, be a graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Physician Assistant Program, be nationally Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Maine.
