The Faculty of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Oral Health Sciences at UBC. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching, with consideration of a higher rank depending on qualifications. This is a tenure-stream position. Furthermore, highly qualified applicants will be transitioned into the position of Director of the Graduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. Applicants must have completed postgraduate training in pediatric dentistry and must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists in Canada or eligible for Fellowship. Applicants must also have research training to the level of MSc degree or higher. Preference will be given to individuals whose contributions could enhance existing educational programs at the Faculty of Dentistry.

The successful candidate will be expected to further develop the existing Graduate Pediatric Dentistry program which operates at UBC and at BC Children’s Hospital. Furthermore, the applicant is expected to teach in both locations and thus will be expected to apply for privileges at BCCH once hired. She/he will contribute to high quality graduate teaching (didactic and clinical) and effective supervision of graduate students. The candidate will have recent clinical experience with multi-drug oral sedation and hospital dentistry. The candidate will have strong interpersonal skills. She/he will build trust through an open, respectful and collegial approach and will be an eager collaborator who is able to work in a highly interactive and productive manner with faculty, staff and students across the Department, Faculty, BC Children’s Hospital and the University.

The successful candidate will hold a full-time faculty appointment at UBC with salary, rank and appointment status commensurate with qualifications and experience.
