The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a Department Executive Officer in the Department of Periodontics. This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level.   

Position is available as soon as possible.

Must have:  D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent; completion of an ADA/CODA-accredited advanced training program in Periodontics; record of effective teaching and mentoring of faculty and/or students; record of hypothesis-driven research and/or scholarly activity; record of success in acquiring extramural grant support; record of relevant administrative and leadership experience; demonstrated experience working efficiently in an interdisciplinary environment; and record of activity fostering a climate that values and engages diversity in all its forms to enliven and make more inclusive the work of the department/college.    

Desirable qualifications:  Ph.D. or equivalent; Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Periodontics; clinical practice experience; ability to foster collaborative interactions among faculty from different departments and colleges; and demonstrated ability to develop new research initiatives.  Rank/salary commensurate with qualifications/experience.
