Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene (2 temporary, non-tenure positions) (Temporary for the Spring of 2023 and the Fall of 2023)
Instruct courses in dental hygiene, as assigned. Coordinate/supervise students and lead part-time faculty in a clinical setting. Collaborate with Director of the Dental Hygiene Program and Dental Hygiene faculty on admissions policies, curriculum issues, clinic policies, teaching-learning techniques, student advising and remediation, and accreditation procedures. Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas, specifically clinical dental hygiene, dental technology, community health, and the techniques of effective instruction. Participate in course and curriculum development, student advisement, program review, professional development activities, and serve on center/college/district committees as required to maintain and improve the instructional program: assume other professional and community assignments as required/assigned. This colleague will contribute to the greater good of SWC through collegiality and shared governance participation; will observe proper channels of communication.
Any bachelor’s degree (or higher) and two years of experience in the area of Dental Hygiene or any associate degree and six years of experience in the area of Dental Hygiene OR Possession of a valid California Community College Instructor Credential OR the equivalent
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION’S COMMISSION ON DENTAL ACCREDITATION STANDARDS (ADACDAS): Any bachelor’s degree or higher.
CALIFORNIA BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS CODE:
California licensed dentist, registered dental hygienist, registered dental hygienist in alternative practice, or registered dental hygienist in extend functions.
