Controller - Accounting Manager

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. THIS IS AN OFFICE POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting function, including development of the team, as well as continuous improvement of the organization's accounting initiatives, principles, practices, and procedures. This position will oversee the timely monthly close of the General Ledger, consolidation and reporting of financial results, and the development of and compliance to internal controls.

This is a unique opportunity to have significant impact on a growing organization. This role will collaborate and direct operational and strategic activities for the Company, related to the financial and operational management. In addition, you will work directly with CFO/COO, and functional leadership on various initiatives.

As the Controller, you will:

• Ensure accurate & timely financials are in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to the close calendar. Identify any areas of concern in financials for investigation & resolution.
• Maintain the company’s overall systems of accounts, books and records for all company transactions and assets.
• Review and ensure timely completion of internal financials, bank financials and other financial packages.
• Maintain current and projected balance sheets and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate all audit activity
• Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance to internal controls and continually updates processes & procedures bringing accounting to best in class.
• Manage the consolidation of company entities including eliminations and recording of investment in joint ventures.
• Lead the efforts from an accounting point of view for the establishment of any new entities.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements
• Prepare financial statements as requested
• Prepares and records monthly journal entries
• Prepares and submits annual personal property tax filings
• Meet with the CFO on a regular basis to review the company’s financial performance

What you bring to the role:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience; experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• CPA required
• Strong and broad experience in accounting and ability to apply strong GAAP knowledge to business scenarios
• The ability to communicate financial information into sound business language that is easily digestible by all and informs the decision-making process
• Experience supervising and developing staff
• Experience supervising an audit
• Experience consolidating multiple entities
