Northwell Health is seeking a Program Director for its

General Practice Residency (GPR) in Dental Medicine
at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital

The Division of General Dentistry in the Department of Dental Medicine at Northwell Health, in conjunction with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, is seeking a visionary dental leader to join its team as the head of its general practice residency in dental medicine, with program sites at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY, and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.  Academic rank in the Zucker School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience, and candidates will be expected to participate in and lead the training of residents. 

 

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in leadership and experience in all aspects of general dentistry appropriate for an academic tertiary care level. Commitment to and interest in academic scholarship and collaborative research initiatives are essential for this position.  Faculty practice opportunities available.

 

Required qualifications:

  • DDS or DMD Degree from an accredited dental school Completion of General Practice Residency (GPR) or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), additional specialty certifications will be considered Currently licensed as a dentist in the state of New York Familiarity and experience with Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) requirements Outstanding communication and management skills and an ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and residents Previous division, department, or residency program leadership and demonstrated research expertise Must possess recent experience in generally accepted and currently used methods and techniques and strong clinical proficiency, including implant dentistry and care for medically complex patients
