Job Details

SIHF Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in central Illinois.  We currently have 31 health centers located in eleven counties.  In the St. Louis Metro East, we have 20 health centers within 30 minutes of downtown St. Louis.

 We currently have a need for a part-time dentist in our Bethalto Health Center, which is 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis.  It is part of a multi-specialty practice that also offers Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN and Behavioral Health.  

 

Below is a description of the dental practice.

  • We provide dental services for Medicaid children 1-20 years of age. 
  • We provide comprehensive dental up to single tooth space maintainer. 
  • We do not engage in any Dental treatment requiring external lab and do not provide endodontic services other than pulpotomy on primary teeth. 
  • Dental services include:
  • Composites
  • Prophy
  • Amalgams
  • X-ray
  • Extractions
  • Sealants
  • Pulpotomy
  • Stainless steel crowns
  • Space maintainers

Our History

In 1984, a group of community leaders recognized the need to attract physicians to the Metro-East of the St. Louis Metropolitan area, which had been devastated by closed factories, two decades of chronic unemployment, decreasing property values, and accompanying societal ills. SIHF Healthcare, then called Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (SIHF), opened its first site in Centreville on January 7, 1985, with a physician, a nurse and a director. Today, we serve over 1,500 patients each day with open arms and a dedication to providing compassionate, comprehensive and quality care.

Today

Thirty-six years later we are the second largest FQHC in Illinois and out of the almost 1,400 FQHC’s nationally we are in the top 2%!
