The Clinical Research Coordinator who will be responsible for managing all components of clinical research protocols for the Clinical Research Center in the College of Dentistry, including pre and post research activities, in and outside the clinical setting.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating the activation and maintenance of clinical protocols, including review and completion of submissions, amendments, and adverse event reports as required by the UIC Institutional Review, Sponsors, NIH and / or FDA; acting as a liaison between clinical faculty/clinical dental providers, clinical staff and the UIC IRB office, grant sponsors and regulatory agencies to ensure priorities are communicated and resources are allocated appropriately across multiple ongoing projects; coordinating outreach to and liaison with community members and staff within UIC, neighboring institutions and the community at large; executing informed consent process and monitor patient status; enrolling participants into programs and explaining the research protocol and obtain informed consent; ensuring that enrollment and research activities comply with established protocols, regulatory and monitoring agency standards, and grants sponsor guidelines as well as managing the day to day activities of individual clinical research protocols including research participants’ recruitment, registration, treatment and evaluation, data collection and data entry, administer questionnaires, study participant scheduling.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a dental or medical field such as dental hygiene, nursing, mental health, psychology, pharmaceutical sciences, social science, or a related field required. The preferred candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in clinical research activity, working with federal regulations and IRBs and certified as Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC).
