Family Care Health Centers is excited to announce our NEW Chief Dental Officer position. We are on the hunt for top talent to help complete our dental team! The Chief Dental Officer is responsible for overseeing the development, management, and provision of primary oral services and education withing the agency. As Chief Dental Officer, it is your responsibility to ensure that all service standards are met and delivered in an effective quality manner. Additional responsibilities for Chief Dental Officer include providing comprehensive dental care including examination, diagnosis, treatment, patient counseling, referral, and follow up, providing telephone consultation to clients and families, and maintaining appropriate policies, protocols, records, reports, and statistical date relevant to services provided. The Chief Dental Officer is also responsible for maintaining a safe and hazardous free environment, consulting with staff members regarding the oral health care needs of clients, participating in FCHC’s system of after-hours coverage and arranges for provision of emergency services, participating in the development of in-service programs related to dental health issues, and providing supervision, orientation, and evaluation of Dental Staff, as well as, hires, schedules, assignments, and leave time for such staff.

  • Contribute to Public Health activities as appropriate.
  • Participates on Management Team and other committees as assigned.
  • Represents the Center at meetings, conferences, and committees as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Chief Dental Officer Qualifications:

 

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine Required.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Missouri and be in good standing.
  • Drug license and Medicaid provider enrollment number required.
  • Work experience in urban community health setting preferred.

Dental Services:

Dental services include cleanings, sealants, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, partials and full dentures. Staff provide referrals should a specialist be needed to meet a patient’s specific oral health needs. Thorough exams and x-rays are conducted at each initial visit. Please note that we do limited oral surgery and do not provide any orthodontic (braces) treatment.
