The Dental Assistant maintains the overall physical operations of the clinical area and assists the Dentist in the delivery of dental care services. The Dental Assistant, in collaboration with the dental care team, is accountable for assisting our patients towards their highest level of health. Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Coordinating patient flow with the receptionist and the dental providers
- Perform procedures such as x-ray exposure and development, fluoride therapy, patient study and working models, etc.
- Maintains inventory and proper sterilization of all instruments and supplies, excluding medicines, and prepares rooms daily
- Assist dental providers in treatments, diagnostic exams, and surgical interventions
- Uses four-handed dental technique Taking vital signs- blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration taking skills
- Knowledge, proper handling, and mixing of dental materials, cements, etc.
- Computer use and knowledge Maintains CPR Certification, continuing education requirements for/and certification
Dental Assistant Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate required.
- Dental Assistant School Diploma required.
- Completion of accredited Dental Assistant Program and/or 2-3 years successful work experience as a Dental Assistant required.
- Expanded functions certificate is a plus!
- Excellent customer service communication skills and organizational skills required.

Dental Services:
Dental services include cleanings, sealants, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, partials and full dentures. Staff provide referrals should a specialist be needed to meet a patient’s specific oral health needs. Thorough exams and x-rays are conducted at each initial visit. Please note that we do limited oral surgery and do not provide any orthodontic (braces) treatment.
