Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. What do Dental Hygienists do? Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g., removing plaque), and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll help dentists decide on treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. We'd like to meet you if you have a steady hand and a great bedside manner. Our practice is looking for someone who wants a career rather than a job.

Our office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Meeting once a month on Wednesdays

License/Certification:

X-Ray Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
  • Sterilize dental instruments properly
  • Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
  • Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
  • Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride)
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
  • Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
  • Take X-rays or dental impressions
  • Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
  • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
  • Monitor supplies

Skills

  • Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A patient and friendly personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus
  • Valid license to practice in GA                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Job Type:

COVID-19 considerations:

We are using and providing all PPE for staff, along with daily temperature checks. No one but the patient is allowed in the office.

Dental Assistant 

We are seeking an applicant for a full-time Expanded Function Dental Assistant. The applicant should have an eye for detail and a caregiving attitude. They must have a CPR and Georgia x-ray certification and be experienced in 4-handed dentistry. We seek a hard-working, dependable assistant with an outstanding personality and a GREAT team player.

The dental assistant should be prepared to:

Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient

Guide parents and patients through our processes before treatment

Educate patients in oral hygiene instruction and provide postoperative instructions

Prepare patients for examination and treatment

Take x-rays and save information to patient charts

Be responsible for the operational readiness of the operatory rooms

Prepare tray set-ups for dental procedures

Mix amalgam, cement, and root canal sealer to prepare impression materials and fabricate temporary crowns and bridges.

Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment

Clean chairs and rooms

Assist the dentist and other dental staff with treatment:

Document patient information, treatment plans, and procedures in the patient chart.

Assist with suctioning, holding retractors, and suture cutting during surgical procedures.

Pour, and trim impression models

Fabricate custom impression trays

Order and maintain clinical supplies

Be responsible for adhering to all government regulations and office standards.

We seek a highly motivated, hardworking, ambitious, and energetic individual who enjoys working in an upbeat, productive, and FAST-PACED environment to fill our full-time position. Phone and people skills are a must as well as a pleasant personality. Help create a pleasant working environment that is inviting, motivating, and attracts input for excellent office morale and culture.

The responsibilities will be to welcome patients, check in patients, manage wait time, make sure the patient's paperwork is completed in a timely manner, check for treatment in walkout for accuracy, schedule any upcoming needed appointments, collect patient payments, answer four (4) telephone lines and maintain a comfortable waiting space for the patients.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a cheerful disposition and will be responsible for multiple duties, including:

Knowledge of the Dentrix system is a plus

Customer Service; acknowledge, smile, and greet patients upon arrival/dismissal

Respond to patient questions and or concerns

Answering Telephones

Scheduling Appointments

Confirming Appointments

Follow up on no-shows/cancellations of Appointments

Register Patients

Post charges and payments to patient accounts

Maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients

Must be detail orientated and organized

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
