Assistant/Associate Professor-Clinical Dental Hygiene

Division of Dental Hygiene 

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry invites interested applicants to apply for a full-time (12 months) clinical track faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene. This position offers an exciting opportunity to participate in a division that is structured on the principles of patient care through a comprehensive, vertically integrated small-group practice and an interdisciplinary model of health care delivery within a dental school.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be didactic and clinical instruction in the dental hygiene curriculum. Additional responsibilities and opportunities include engaging in scholarly activities, contributing to the college’s continuing education program, college governance and the intramural faculty practice, as well as any other assignments as determined by the division chair. 

Qualified candidates must have graduated from a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, possess a graduate degree in dental hygiene or a related field, and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree, demonstration of leadership, and evidence of promoting diversity and inclusion. Applicants should also possess the qualifications to be eligible for a dental hygiene teaching certificate in the State of Ohio. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, initiative and creativity, as well as strong team building and conflict resolution abilities. It is expected that this candidate will serve as a role model and advocate for professionalism and high ethical standards and will champion interprofessional experiences within a health science educational setting. A desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among members of various educational, research, and service communities is essential.
