Description
The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Co-Director, Director or Asst/Associate Dean of Clinical and Translational Research, dependent upon qualifications and experience. This is a full-time faculty position in the Standing Faculty in the Clinician Educator track or Tenure track, at the associate or full professor level or the Academic Clinician track, depending upon experience. As Co-Director, Director or Associate Dean, this position will oversee the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals of the Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR). The CCTR provides centralized support to researchers within Penn Dental Medicine who conduct human subjects research. Our highly specialized Center provides clinical research support and services spanning the full spectrum of a study from conceptualization to closeout for industry, federal, and foundation sponsors. The current team comprises administrative personnel, clinical research coordinators, and dental practitioners. Investigators have the option of allocating our highly trained clinical research personnel directly to their project whenever available. Personnel from the center are available to assist investigators in the pre-award or post-award phases.
The Co-Director, Director, or Associate Dean will work with School faculty and department leadership to improve overall scholarly activity, as well as increase funding to strengthen the clinical and interdisciplinary practice programs and research at the University of Pennsylvania. A successful history of extramural funding is required along with a good understanding of the regulatory aspects of clinical trials. and supervise the faculty and staff within the CCTR. Salary and academic rank and departmental appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include DMD/DDS/MD and/or PhD degree or equivalent; experience with teaching and mentoring students and faculty preferably in interprofessional settings, demonstrated
experience in research and scholarship with a track record of funding, experience in the management of center/program operations and IND/IRB process. Candidates seeking clinical practice opportunities must be eligible for Pennsylvania dental licensure.
