The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Periodontics.  The position is available July 31, 2024; screening begins immediately.  

 

 

Applicants must have:  

 

  • D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent;

     

    By time of appointment, completion of a CODA/CDAC-accredited advanced training program in Periodontics;

     

    By time of appointment, licensed in the State of Iowa or eligible for Faculty Permit issued by the Iowa Dental Board;

     

    Board Certification/Eligibility in Periodontics; and

     

    Experience with hypothesis-driven research and/or scholarly activity.

     

 

Desirable qualifications:

 

  • PhD or equivalent;

     

    Clinical practice experience via private practice or academic environments;

     

    Demonstrated ability to develop new research programs;

     

    Record of success in acquiring extramural grant support; and

     

    Eligibility to obtain a Moderate Sedation Permit issued by the Iowa Dental Board.

     

 

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
