The IHS Division of Oral Health (DOH)

The Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Oral Health (DOH) recruits dentists, dental hygienists and students who seek a career providing care to 2.56 million American Indians and Alaska Natives. Approximately 480 dentists serve in Indian health facilities, in specialties including pedodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and Dental Public Health.

IHS DOH is ideal for individuals who appreciate an outdoor lifestyle and enjoy living and working in some of the most scenic areas in the country. American Indians and Alaska Natives represent a diverse, culturally rich population with proud traditions and unique heritages to share. Our dentists find this experience both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling.

Each path offers outstanding rewards, competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package based on training and experience.

An added incentive is the IHS Loan Repayment Program (LRP), which provides up to $20,000 in loan repayment in exchange for an initial two-year service commitment. Opportunities are based on Indian health facilities with the greatest staffing needs.
