Dental Assistants are an invaluable part of any dental office. With a good team of assistants on hand, we can handle almost any combination of procedures and patient needs. A good Dental Assistant will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, and they will work chair-side as dentists examine and treat patients. A great Dental Assistant will create a comfortable atmosphere in preparation for and during treatment, and will also make sure that all notes from that visit are captured for the team. It is really important that there is a sense of teamwork among all the assistants, as workflow can vary day-to-day, and in this case it is our ability to work together that keeps the patient flow moving and keeps any one person from getting backed up.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all facets of clinical patient services.
  • Greet, seat and obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
  • Explain procedures and obtain consent prior to doctor arrival.
  • Assist doctors with all dental procedures i.e. guards, bleaching , impressions etc.
  • Treatment plans/phases them
  • Set up/break down and sterilize operatories.
  • Prepare hygiene and assistant trays
  • Stock all operatories, lab and sterilization, notify when low
  • Assist other clinical staff when needed
  • Communicate with hygiene staff efficiently regarding exams
  • Coordinate doctors to keep them on time with schedules
  • Prepare daily day sheet for Doctors
  • Actively participate in 7:40 am morning Huddle
  • Follow and demonstrate commitment to Raynor Dental policies, professional expectations and Protocols.

Down Time Protocols:

Deep clean rooms weekly including restrooms. Maintain cleanliness of common areas i.e. dishes, laundry and trash removal. Stock rooms with supplies as required. Continuously review and prep for daily schedule (gaps). (P) Prepare referrals and send out. Pull charts for next day. Have MED HX printed and ready for patients. Scan, check emails for new patients and enter into the computer. Treatment follow-up using Patient by numbers tasks and schedule.

Qualifications:

2 years previous experience in the dental field preferred, though on-the-job training is provided. Some knowledge of dental and medical terminology is necessary to be able to answer any questions that the patient might have. Must be able to adapt to any type of situation, think quickly on their feet, and treat each patient as a valued client and ensure that they are cared for in a quick and efficient manner. They must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Motivating team player. Strong computer and analytical skills. HS or GED education and/or higher.

Hourly Rate will be determined by experience.

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
