DENTAL HYGIENE FULL TIME, TENURE TRACK FACULTY
Harper College is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position in the Dental Hygiene program beginning August 2021. The successful candidate will plan and teach courses in the Associate degree dental hygiene curriculum, which may include didactic, clinical and lab instruction. Delivery of learner-centered instruction includes development of relevant assignments, use of active learning methodologies, fair and accurate assessment of learning, informed feedback and comprehensive documentation of student progress. You will also be able to participate in and contribute to the development and/or revision of instructional methods, materials, and resources, student remediation plans, calibration activities for clinical instruction and accreditation program review.
Requirements include:
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline or higher education. Current enrollment with a completion date scheduled is acceptable
- Must have graduated from a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
- At least three years of recent experience (within the last six years) as a dental hygienist in a clinical setting. Documented evidence of experience in non-surgical periodontal treatment of complex periodontal treatment of complex periodontally involved patients
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical, didactic of lab teaching experience in an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Possession of a current Illinois Dental Hygiene license which should include current CPR certification.
- Illinois certification in local anesthetic and nitrous oxide administration (or approved equivalent per Illinois Board of Dentistry).
- Membership in in the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA).
