Rochester Regional Health, in Rochester, NY has initiated a nationwide search for qualified applicants for the role of System Medical Director of Dentistry. The Department of Dentistry at Rochester Regional Health includes five clinic-based practices and a General Practice Residency Program.

The System Medical Director will work closely with the Executive Leadership of the Primary Care and Ambulatory Specialty Institute (PCASI) to ensure a fully integrated service line clinically interconnected across affiliates and across the continuum of care by standard policies, procedures, metrics, reporting and other necessary elements. 

The System Medical Director is a member of the PCASI Senior Leadership Team with responsibilities to participate in the strategic, clinical and operational activities of his/her department within the context of the RRH goals & priorities.  The Medical Director is responsible to set standards and expectations of departmental quality, patient safety, teaching/education, scholarly activities, and other important outcomes. This position ensures that all departmental and educational practices and policies are compliant with regulatory and accreditation standards.  Additionally, the System Medical Director exemplifies emotional maturity in his/her behavior and holds all departmental members to the same standard.

Ideal candidates will have five or more years of demonstrated clinical leadership success in a multi-practice, multi-provider medical or dental practice. Experience with dental education programs is preferred. Building an effective clinical team, promoting excellent patient experiences, efficient operations and financial stability are priorities. Understanding the needs of the community and being able to strategically develop and sustain dental and oral surgery offices to meet these needs are marks of the role’s success.
