JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse

Part Time Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday: 6a to 6p

* At least 1 year of experience pediatrics, and/or anesthesia experience and or level 1 trauma experience

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager. Follows and supports the CARE model for patient experience.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include: ability to asses cardio-respiratory system for changes and provides appropriate treatment, airway management and assessment, support to Anesthesiologist, and placement of IV's.
Demonstrates competency in pre-admission, pre-op, PACU and discharge process.
Assess patient's health history, preform medication reconciliation, and assess compliance with prescribed plan of care.
Performs assigned procedures and performs physical assessments to assess the patient. Evaluates and revises plan based on changes in patient status.
Administers medications by the order of a provider. Assess, interpret and intervene based on the patient assessment and vital signs.
Documents accurately and completely.
Assess patient and family learning needs and performs education for pre-operative and post-operative care.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered nursing license in the state of Oregon.
2 years of Pediatric Nursing experience.
BLS and PALS Certification.
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
Adherence to practice standards and guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors, and or loud noises.
Moderate physical activity; requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than 4 hours per day. Sitting for extended periods of time.
Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
