The Oral Surgeon, reporting to the Regional Dental Director, provides and manages dental diagnostic and surgical procedures on the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions. Position contributes to DentaQuest Care Group's continued success by passionately executing the company's business model; promoting the company culture, mission and values; and ensuring consistent compliance with all key company programs and operating initiatives. Responsible for driving superior levels of patient service while striving continuously to improve outcomes. Follows and supports the CARE model for patient experience.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs optimal standard of care for all patients utilizing ADA and AAOMS guidelines.
Diagnoses and provides appropriate dental treatment plans to patients to include discussion and explanation of treatment plans with patients and/or guardians to their satisfaction and mutual understanding.
Educates patients and guardians on the importance of maintaining proper oral health and outlining goals for both medical and dental health considerations.
Communicates with our clinical and administrative support team regarding patient treatment plans, required follow up visits and referrals to specialty dentists.
Collaborates with referring providers and medical providers to properly meet the needs of the patient.
Prescribes medications as necessary and appropriate
Follows the dental office infection control plan, employee health and safety program, and patient protection plan consistent with DentaQuest Care Group policies and relevant guidelines from OSHA, CDC, ADA, HIPAA and other relevant organizations and laws.
Attends required continuing education courses related to the dental profession for continued and improved knowledge and technique of dentistry and oral health as well as to maintain licensure.
Consistently attends and participates in team meetings and huddles.
Executes company standards, processes, and procedures to ensure quality of service and a consistent patient experience.
Strives to balance the achievement of operational targets while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Demonstrates and encourages a patient focus in all practice operations.
Fosters strong relationships with patients to create connections and influence patient retention.
Keep current with specialty guidelines related to best practices and advancements in techniques, materials and procedures in order to practice at the highest level.

DDS or DMD required
Completion of post-doctoral, CODA accredited, OMFS residency program.
Current CPR and ACLS certification
Licensing/certifications as required by state.
Maintain Continuing Education (CE) as required by state.
Ability to travel using personal car as required by the company.
Occasional overnight travel.

• The ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach overhead and carry or lift up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position responsibilities.
• The ability to handle sharp instruments
